Meet the Little Brothers Volunteers

In 2022, Little Brothers celebrated 60 years of volunteering with isolated seniors in Quebec. 60 years of stories told over a cup of coffee, tea, cookies, pink paparmanes, the scent of geraniums, violets, musk, memories shared on a swing, on the edge of a hospital bed or a nursing home, hours spent together, chatting about everything and nothing, moments of silence too, but above all, a presence to fill the boredom.

This sweet pairing of a volunteer and the Great Friends of Little Brothers, draws a line to end the loneliness of old age. Through a series of portraits, we want to highlight the commitment and caring of our volunteers; to emphasize their selflessness, to show our appreciation for their generosity, to give space to pay tribute to them, but above all, to enrich the world with their beautiful stories.

Each month, you will be able to discover the portrait of a volunteer who is committed to reducing the social isolation of those who, just yesterday, allowed us to clear the path of our busy lives today and allow us to believe in tomorrow.

And if we were inspired by them, if we rolled up our sleeves to put our hands in the hands of the other, links between us to compose a better world, to unite ages and experience, wisdom and good advice and thus, reduce the gap between isolation and hope of a visit.

Thank you for being one of the indispensable links in this great chain of solidarity throughout Quebec. Thanks to you, solitude is lived in small suspension points…
