On February 10, a warm and joyful atmosphere filled the Royal Canadian Legion in Greenfield Park. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, around sixty Great Friends, volunteers, and employees gathered to share an exceptional moment. And what a moment it was! The iconic singer France Castel and her partner, Chawky Bichara, delivered an intimate and touching performance filled with nostalgia and love.
Voices, Memories, and Emotions
From the very first notes of Parlez-moi d’amour and Quand j’aime une fois, j’aime toujours, faces lit up, and eyes sparkled. Some hummed along in unison, while others let out an emotional smile, carried away by the magic of the moment.

“Hearing France Castel sing these classics with such passion was magical. We wished it could have lasted even longer!” shared a participant, still enchanted by this musical encounter.
But beyond the music, it was a truly human connection that took place. France Castel, generous and radiant, took the time to meet the Great Friends, exchanging a few words, shaking hands, and sharing laughter and memories.
A Delightful and Friendly Moment
After this heartfelt performance, participants enjoyed a delicious coffee and dessert. Thanks to the invaluable collaboration of Moisson Rive-Sud, a wonderful selection of pastries was served, adding a sweet touch to an already memorable afternoon. This shared moment over coffee allowed the Great Friends to extend the magic and reflect on the emotions they had experienced.

Precious Moments That Break Isolation
Events like these remind us how essential it is to create moments of joy and connection for isolated older adults. Thanks to the generosity of our partners—the Royal Canadian Legion in Greenfield Park and Moisson Rive-Sud—this day will remain engraved in the hearts of the Great Friends.
Every smile, every song, and every exchange helps weave precious bonds and reminds us that no one should ever feel alone.
