This summer, exciting projects will come to life at Domaine Juliette-Huot: sustainable renovations to preserve this iconic place, and a reimagined summer program to multiply the moments of joy shared with older adults.
A Place Transformed for the Future
Thanks to a $442,008 grant from the Government of Canada, through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program, Little Brothers will begin renovation work at Domaine Juliette-Huot — a symbolic space of rest, connection, and renewal for the seniors we support.
“We are extremely grateful for this investment, which will allow us to carry out essential renovations at Domaine Juliette-Huot following the best environmental practices. This iconic site, rich in history and beauty, plays a vital role in our mission to combat social isolation among seniors. With the federal government’s support, we will be able to preserve and enhance this unique infrastructure so that it continues to offer a peaceful, accessible, and welcoming environment for the Great Friends we accompany and the volunteers who support them.” — Catherine Harel-Bourdon, President and CEO of Little Brothers
This support represents a major step forward in preserving the Domaine’s future. The renovations will both protect the site’s heritage value and modernize the facilities in accordance with today’s environmental and accessibility standards.
All work will be carefully planned to ensure that summer activities in 2025 can continue as planned. Domaine Juliette-Huot will remain a welcoming, safe, and human-centered environment for Great Friends and volunteers.
Summer Picnics to Foster Connection
For summer 2025, we are launching an all-new format for our seasonal activities. Inspired by last year’s success, we will replace overnight stays with single-day getaways at Domaine Juliette-Huot. This more flexible and accessible approach will allow us to reach more seniors, while ensuring sustainable management of our human and financial resources.

From May to September, the Domaine will come alive every week with festive picnics. Each day will include a shared meal, engaging activities, a warm welcome, and round-trip accessible transportation — everything needed for a joyful, worry-free experience.
In 2024, this model allowed us to reach 12% of our Great Friends, compared to 9% for overnight stays. A beautiful reminder that simplicity, when delivered with care, can also create unforgettable moments.
A New Approach, the Same Lasting Impact
Whether at the Domaine or in local communities, these days continue to make a real difference:
- A senior gets out of isolation and experiences a joyful moment they’ve been looking forward to;
- Genuine friendships are formed between Great Friends and caring volunteers.
- Mental health and well-being improve, simply through a day filled with human connection and warmth.

Thank you for helping make these moments possible. Your support allows elderly people living alone to share a festive meal, a burst of laughter, a lively activity, and the comforting presence of someone who truly cares.
What Your Generosity Makes Possible
A day out. A connection. A new spark.
Because a simple picnic can transform a senior’s day — and sometimes so much more.
