Settling Into Summer at Little Brothers Boutiques
As summer arrives, Little Brothers Boutiques ease into the rhythm of the season. In Montréal, visitors are welcomed into three neighbourhood locations:
- 1380 Gilford Street
- 1284 Mont‑Royal Avenue East
- 207 Fairmount Avenue West
Over the coming weeks, these boutiques naturally become part of the city’s summer landscape—places where people stop while exploring, enjoying a stroll, or searching for unique finds. Many step in out of curiosity and quickly discover a warm, inviting atmosphere, where friendly exchanges with volunteers and staff are at the heart of the experience.

A Lively Presence on Mont‑Royal Avenue
In the Plateau, the Mont‑Royal Avenue boutique fully embraces the energy of the summer months.
From May 28 to September 7 (east section), and until October 12 (west section), the avenue becomes a vibrant pedestrian space. Locals and visitors alike can stroll freely, explore nearby shops, and enjoy a lively neighbourhood atmosphere.

Within this setting, the boutique becomes more than just a stop along the way—it offers the opportunity to:
- Shop in a more sustainable way
- Discover unique, quality items
- Support a charitable boutique rooted in the circular economy
- Learn more about the mission of Little Brothers
To mark the first street fair of the season on Mont-Royal Avenue, the boutique and Montrealers alike made the most of the beautiful weather, showing up in great spirits and with vibrant energy!
Extending Into the Mile End Community
This presence also extends into the surrounding neighbourhoods. In the Mile-End, the Little Brothers Boutique was part of the energy of Mile-End en fête, held from May 22 to 24.
Throughout the weekend, increased foot traffic and vibrant street activity introduced the boutique to new visitors—both curious passersby and local residents. These moments create opportunities for spontaneous conversations, both inside the boutiques and throughout the neighbourhood, helping to raise awareness of the organization’s mission.
For the team, this means being more present on the ground, engaging in meaningful exchanges, and building new connections within the local community.
Reaching New Audiences Online
This spirit of connection continues online with the launch of the TikTok account @boutiqueslespetitsfreres. The platform offers a glimpse into everyday life in the boutiques.
Content includes:
- Curated in-store finds highlighted by the team
- Behind-the-scenes moments, including the sorting of donations
- Profiles of dedicated volunteers
- Spontaneous clips capturing the boutiques’ atmosphere
Rooted in real, everyday moments, this content helps reach new audiences while showcasing the people who bring these spaces to life.

Spaces Rooted in Solidarity
Beyond the summer buzz, the core purpose of Little Brothers Boutiques remains unchanged. These spaces play a direct and meaningful role in supporting the organization’s mission.
By encouraging reuse, creating opportunities for connection, and fostering intergenerational solidarity, they actively contribute to reducing social isolation among older adults.
Each visit, donation, and interaction carries meaning—connecting everyday actions with a lasting social impact.
