On October 5, 2024, our Southern Lanaudière team celebrated a milestone: 10 years of dedication and support for the region’s seniors. This event, imbued with human warmth and solidarity, brought together volunteers, Great Friends and partners for an unforgettable moment, reminding us of our mission to break the social isolation of seniors.
Since 2014, the South Lanaudière team has been providing caring accompaniment to people of advanced age. Today, 122 Great Friends benefit from this accompaniment thanks to the involvement of 73 volunteers. Catherine Harel Bourdon, PDG of Petits Frères, emphasized the importance of this mission: “Our Great Friends also give us so much. Volunteering is not just an altruistic gesture. Every visit, every smile, every exchange creates new bonds.
Alongside Catherine Harel Bourdon, several guests of honour were on hand to underline the importance of this commitment. Michel Deschênes, president of FADOQ, Maria Dias Ribeiro, representative of the CAB de Montcalm, Marie-Ève Couturier, deputy mayor of Terrebonne, and Lise Gagnon, deputy mayor of Mascouche, each shared their support for the work carried out in South Lanaudière. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the ongoing efforts of our volunteers and the importance of such a presence for the region’s isolated seniors.
A celebration marking 10 years of support for seniors
Great Friends, volunteers and staff shared a delicious autumn meal, carefully prepared by a volunteer. To add a personal touch, each Great Friends received a personalized memento in the Little Brothers colors. And for those who couldn’t attend, special visits were made to their homes, extending the magic of the day beyond the party walls.
Together, we continue to offer the seniors of our community moments of joy and essential human ties, values that remain at the heart of our mission.
Thank you to all those who helped make this anniversary a memorable one, and to those who work alongside us every day to break the isolation of seniors.
