Little Brothers: partners of the 2023 edition of the Salon des aînés de Saint-Jérôme

An exceptional event not to be missed with Marie-Claude Barrette, Geneviève Schmidt and Béatrice Picard!

Hosted by Marie-Claude Barrette, the 6th edition of the Salon des aînés de Saint-Jérôme will kick off on Thursday, September 7 at 7 p.m., live from Station 7 in Saint-Jérôme. Under the theme Au gré de tous les âges, the next edition of the Salon des aînés de Saint-Jérôme will be launched in style on September 7, one week before the event on September 16 at Quartier 50+.

Marie-Claude Barrette, Geneviève Schmidt et Béatrice Picard

Host Marie-Claude Barrette will be at the helm of this not-to-be-missed annual event, during which she will unveil the current edition’s program, chat with the event’s main partners and conduct exclusive interviews with some of Salon 2023’s headliners.

Actress Geneviève Schmidt, this year’s guest ambassador, and Béatrice Picard, the event’s patron, form the perfect duo to represent active aging, intergenerationality and care. Both are committed to raising collective awareness of the issues and challenges associated with an aging population.

I was a caregiver for my father. I’m delighted to be taking part in this gathering, which is open to all generations,” says Geneviève Schmidt, who will be present at the media launch. Guillaume Nadon, coordinator of the event since 2017, points out that “the media launch will be a unique opportunity to introduce the partners of the largest gathering for seniors and caregivers in the Laurentians and to reflect collectively on these essential topics.

Other guests at the September 7 event include Marie-France Lemay, head of the Chartwell network in Quebec, Marc Bourcier, Mayor of Saint-Jérôme, and Rosemonde Landry, President and CEO of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) des Laurentides. Other surprise public figures will join the event.

In collaboration with Les Petits Frères, the evening will pay special tribute to Béatrice Picard, who this year marks 75 years of career and social involvement.

Ms. Picard is our last direct witness to such legendary shows as Le Survenant, Cré Basile and Symphorien. Recently, in January, she announced her retirement from The Simpsons, after more than 30 years playing matriarch Marge Simpson. In words, music and testimonials, people with whom she worked will share their memories of this cultural monument and soberly mark this milestone in her life, including Sylvie Léonard and Guy A. Lepage, with whom she worked in Un gars, une fille. A golden opportunity for Les Petits Frères to thank and celebrate their patron for the past 16 years.

Come and join us! Get your free ticket to attend the event in person (available August 8) at www.lancementmediatique2023.eventbrite.ca or by phone at 450 275-5129. A live broadcast will also be available via the Salon des aînés de Saint-Jérôme Facebook page.

The 2023 edition of the Salon des aînés de Saint-Jérôme will be held on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Quartier 50+ in Saint-Jérôme, with over 100 exhibitors.

The Little Brothers of Saint-Jérôme team will be there to meet and talk with people, and to recruit those interested in becoming involved as volunteers with isolated seniors. Geneviève Schmidt, Dr Réjean Hébert, Janette Bertrand and Dr François Marquis will be the keynote speakers at this year’s event.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there! Full details at www.salondesaines.ca.
